I purchased a ceiling fan with LED and remote about 8 months ago from Lowes. Lately the fan and the light will go off then back on. This happened about 3 to 5 times a week. Had a electrician come in and check all the wiring and everything is fine on our end. I was told this could be the sensor inside the light for the remote causing a issue. Can this be fixed.

    Thank you

I wonder if maybe the fan is being controlled by another remote with the same dip switch set up. Do you live in an apartment building, or in a place where it’s possible that another ceiling fan is installed and the remote is controlling more then one fan by accident?

If you’re not sure what we’re talking about, check out this article that helps to understand how ceiling fan remotes are programmed by dip switches. You could try changing the dip switch setting if you believe that the fan is being controlled by another remote by accident

Hi there, We did some more research for you and found an answer for you. The light is being controlled by “noise” likely. This happens depending upon how common your fan is, e.g someone nearby having a same / similar fan or even using similar IR frequencies.

Watch the video on this page, the gentleman in the video replaces his remote and receiver for a very similar reason you described. He said the fan light is flicking, and also sometimes comes on by itself without him turning it on. He goes on to say how noise from other remotes nearby is causing the problem. check it out and let us know if that helps.
