My tenant removed the fan switch. I tried to replace the switch and it works but the fan does not stop, I think since I didn’t have a sketch of what color wire went where, I just guessed and put the wires in as best as I thought they would go. Like I said when I pull the chain, the fan goes to each speed but does not stop. I think I have a wire connected in the wrong spot. Does anyone have a color diagram for L 1 2 3. Thank you.

    Hey Berenice,

Making a sketch of the wire colors is always helpful, but as you said, your tenant caused a problem so knowing what went where before can certainly be a challenge.

We did find an article for you here, which provides support for ceiling fan wiring colors and where they connect. Do you want to take a look at this article and let us know if this was helpful?

    Thanks,
